JOB OPPORTUNITY

Landscape Team Member

Reports to: Landscape Construction Foreman

A Landscape Team Member spends their days immersed in the sounds and sights of the natural countryside where they are  responsible for performing a variety of work tasks (generally physical labour) to assist with the completion of awesome and award-winning landscape and water feature construction projects. The landscape team member will be required to operate a variety of tools and equipment to carry out specified job tasks. Through these experiences and along with the training opportunities provided a landscape team member can build a career.

Job Duties:

  • Operate, load and unload various tools and equipments, including: concrete saws, jackhammers, laser levels, measurement equipment, shovels, rakes, hammers, drills, etc.

  • Assist in the construction of incredible water features, walkways, patios, and walls, as well as the installation of plant material

  • Perform preventative maintenance on tools and equipment by conducting daily inspections, lubricating, and cleaning

  • Manually dig pond basins, ditches, or trenches together with your teammates

  • Transport materials using shovels, wheelbarrows, carts, dollies and hand lifting/carrying

  • Assist foreman with job-related tasks

  • Comply with all company policies and regulations, including the wearing of appropriate personal protective equipment at all times

  • Work in accordance with all local health and safety laws and regulations

  • Training on the job and through courses

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent

  • Minimum of 1 year experience in the landscape construction industry

  • Capable of operating required equipment and tools in a safe and responsible manner

  • Effective communication skills (both verbal and written)

  • Ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines

  • Time management skills

  • Knowledge of specific materials, methods, tools and equipment required to complete various landscape construction practices

 

  • Ability to work both independently with little supervision and as a part of a team

  • Ability to walk, stand, crouch for long periods of time and carry out strenuous physical tasks

  • Preference will be given to candidates with a valid driver's license and safe driving record

Work Conditions:

  • Ability to work with hand tools, power tools, small engine equipment and materials

  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. repeatedly through an entire work shift

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

  • Excellent stamina is required

  • Work near heavy equipment and other vehicles on a regular basis

  • Work outdoors in various conditions including extreme heat and humidity, rain, dust, noise, and cold

  • Seasonal (May to November), full-time (Monday to Friday – 40 to 50 working hours including occasional weekend work).

Pay: $20-$24/hour based on experience.
